Increased demand for goods has a direct impact on freight distribution systems in urban centers; consequently, this effect results in logistical challenges for transport operators and retailers during cargo receiving. This article aims to analyze which are the main difficulties in the freight distribution from the viewpoint of retailers and carriers related to the local policies and logistical challenges. A survey was conducted with the actors on Sorocaba’s center. The data was then analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and factor analysis to understand the most important logistical factors that influence the goods receiving. The findings show that the main policy is the lack of available places for unloading on retailers’ stores and the main logistical challenges are related to the area and after hour deliveries.Downloads
