Abstract

Este artigo estuda a estrutura de capital, a eficiência e o retorno financeiro de empresas da indústria de aviação civil. Foi identificada uma relação negativa entre endividamento e retorno financeiro. Neste caso, os resultados confirmam as teorias do

 

pecking order e dos custos de insolvência, que prevêem que empresas lucrativas usam menos capital de terceiros como fonte de financiamento. O trabalho também identificou empresas eficientes no uso do capital para a obtenção de retornos.
